Johnson Leads Wisconsin To Silver Title

HAMPTON, Va. – The Kappa Magic's run in the Silver Division playoffs ended at the hands of the Wisconsin Playground Warriors. Greg Brown's second half outburst fueled the run the Warriors needed.

Warriors Win Silver Title

In case you might be wondering what the Silver Division playoff title is, here's an explanation. The teams who finish in second place in their pools and are not bracket champions get sent to the Silver Division for their own set of playoffs.

On Sunday afternoon, the Wisconsin Playground Warriors captured the Silver title by virtue of a 71-65 over the Kappa Magic.

Early on this one was all Kappa as stellar point guard Chris Paul ran the show, controlled the tempo and had things firmly under his watch. And then …

Greg Brown scored 8 straight points early in the second half and the tide had swung completely to Wisconsin. Brown drilled two 3s, got fouled on another attempt and made 2 free throws during the run that erased the 29-25 Kappa halftime lead.

Wisconsin's brightest star in this one was Torre Johnson, a versatile 6-7 forward who worked the glass and ran the floor to the tune of 18 points and 7 rebounds. We had him a sweet 9-for-10 from the floor in the contest.

Paul finished with 22 points for the Magic. He was stellar all weekend long. Swingman Reyshawn Terry scored 16, many coming when the game was decided late in the second half.
