"I think I ate the wrong food," Hughley said of his performance. "Everyone has some games like that."
The supremely confident Hughley wasn't concerned that his off-game would drive away Florida Atlantic, he'd come too far to let one game take the air out of his sail.
"I wasn't nervous, I don't think I get nervous," Hughley said. "I've been training for this so it was like a part of my life."
Well, in the fall of 2006, Hughley will take his game to the next level at Florida Atlantic. After visiting the school in late August, he's determined that it's the best spot for him. Louisiana-Monroe, The Citadel, Jacksonville, FIU and Winthrop offered. Marquette showed interest as well.
"I felt comfortable around the assistant coaches and coach Doherty," Hughley said. "I felt like that was the best situation for me. It wasn't too far from home and it wasn't too close. It was just right.
"We're coming up. Since they got me hopefully that'll bring a lot of publicity to the area and the team. Hopefully, that'll make some other players get interested in them."
