"What hit me was when I saw the guys and they were about to work out," Love said. "I saw how big and developed they were … it just felt right with them."
``Xavier offered him everything he's experiencing in high school," Love's brother, Abington Friends assistant coach Leon Shamsid-Deen said. "Academically, socially and with basketball."
Love, who averaged 15 points a game in high school, was a guy who flew somewhat under the radar while playing alongside Antonio "Scoop" Jardine for the Hunting Park Warriors. He has good size, can knock down shot from mid-range and can also run the floor well for a guy his size. Love also has soft hands and does a good job controlling the glass.
``I'm just elated," said Love's father, Wendell. "He loved the closeness of the campus. It's a very warm, quiet, peaceful place."
According to sources, the Cavaliers recently offered the big man.
