Hummel Pummeled With Early Offers

Valparaiso (Ind.) High junior Robbie Hummel has himself a bevy of college offers. In order to help sort through the process, Hummel has an aggressive unofficial visit schedule lined up.

Robbie Hummel's successful spring and summer with the SYF Players has led to a number of significant scholarship offers. The Valparaiso High standout was a popular guy to watch on the circuit and his play has led to numerous opportunities for the junior.

So far, Valparaiso, Northwestern, Purdue, Iowa, Notre Dame, Xavier, Wisconsin-Green Bay, North Carolina State, Charlotte, Nebraska and Miami-FL have offered.

"I'm going to wait until the end of next summer," Hummel said about his decision making process. However, even though he's not speeding up the decision making process, he's beginning to get serious about the information gathering stage.

This coming weekend, Hummel will head off Xavier Friday morning and then make a trip to Indiana for an afternoon unofficial visit. The following day, Hummel will make his way to Champaign, Ill., to meet with the Illinois coaching staff.

Wait, it gets better. Who wouldn't want to be at the Southern Cal-Notre Dame game in South Bend the weekend of Oct. 15th? Trips to N.C. State, Charlotte and possibly Duke could go down in late October.

During the weekend of Sept. 10, Hummel visited Purdue and had a nice time.

"I want to get a feel for the schools academically and the coaches. I don't want to get stuck at a school with people I don't like being around." Robbie Hummel, a 6-foot-6 ½ junior small forward out of Valparaiso High School in Indiana, claims over a dozen college offers thus far. He's taking unofficial visits to Xavier, Indiana and Illinois this coming weekend.

Hummel will take in the Notre Dame-Southern Cal game in the middle of October.
