Illinois State, Butler Add Commitments

A pair of Midwestern mid-major programs landed significant commitments this week. Both Butler and Illinois State increased their scholarship number by one.

Will Veasley, a standout mid-major wing player from Freeport (Ill.) High, committed to the Butler Bulldogs this week. Veasley is the second member of the Illinois Wolves program to pick the Bulldogs this fall as he joins sharp shooter Elliott Engleman in Indianapolis.

The 6-foot-2 wing was really impressed by Butler's kids. "It was more like what the players did when I met their players," Veasley said. "The coaches were straight up with me the whole time but when I went on my official, I really clicked good with the players. They've got a nice group of guys over there."

Nice enough for Veasley to select Butler over Southern Illinois, Northern Illinois, Western Illinois and interest from St. Bonaventure.

"I think I'll be a wing and go between the two and the three (at Butler)."

Illinois State and Porter Moser landed a very high quality mid-major commitment this week. Bobby Hill, a 6-foot-5 forward out of Vashon in St. Louis committed, according to sources.

Vashon, one of the true Midwestern high school power house programs, has produced quite a stable of players of the years.

Hill is expected to come in and bring athleticism and energy to the fold as Moser continues to increase the talent base at ISU.
