Johnson Rounds Out UC's Class

The Cincinnati Bearcats rounded out their 2002 recruiting efforts with a junior college big man. On Monday, UC signed Kareem Johnson of Chipola Junior College.

Bearcats Class Continues To Improve

Once thought to be headed for Morgantown, Bob Huggins has his Bearcats pointed in the proper direction. UC hosted Alabama native and Chipola Junior College standout Kareem Johnson on visit and when it was all over, they accepted his signature.

Johnson is the fifth and final member of the UC class. He joins point guard Chadd Moore, shooting guard Tony Bobbitt, forward Armein Kirkland and do-it-all forward Eric Hicks.

Recently, Hicks won the Slam Dunk Contest at an all-star game hosted by Charlie Weber. "He called me on the phone and said he was going to win my dunk contest," Weber said. "I had no idea." Well, Weber saw him up close and the contest turned out to be a blowout in favor of Hicks.
