North Carolina To Offer Paul
Chris Paul, a point guard at West Forsyth, was offered a scholarship to play for North Carolina on Wednesday, according to our sources. UNC head coach Matt Doherty was in town to meet with Paul and a scholarship offer was to be tendered at that time.
Paul, a junior second-team all-state selection, averaged 26 points and 5 rebounds last season. He has scholarship offers from the Tar Heels, South Carolina, Boston College, Clemson, Wake Forest and NC State. Dave Odom was in town to watch him on Monday and Richmond came in on Tuesday.
"It's getting hectic," Paul said Tuesday night, in regards to his recruitment. "Coach didn't even get a chance to tell me that Dave Odom was coming until a day or so ago."
Paul blossomed into one of the best PGs in the country during his junior season. He is the primary lead guard target of the Wolfpack and Wake Forest and Charlotte offered early in his recruitment.
