Powe Tears ACL

The best junior on the west coast, 6-7 power forward Leon Powe from Oakland, tears the ACL in his knee and is out for at least 4-6 months...

Leon Powe, 6-7 JR PF, Oakland (Calif.) Tech, tore the ACL in his knee last weekend during a tournament in Texas.

Powe underwent an MRI this week that confirmed a tear in the left anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). He is expected to have surgery next week.

The doctor treating Powe said he believed that that dominating frontcourt player might be able to return to the basketball court in 4 to 6 months.
