Peacock Flying High

Zach Peacock was down to a pair of schools, but he didn't quite anticipate making his decision this soon. The 6-foot-8 Miami Norland (Fla.) senior forward got it done on Sunday.

Zach Peacock wasn't expecting to make a decision this quick.

But the 6-foot-8, 235-pound senior at Miami Norland (Fla.) committed to Georgia Tech – shortly after receiving word that Florida had taken a commitment from another forward.

``I felt like this was the best decision for me," Peacock said. "The other school I was looking at, Florida, made it easier for me – but I really love Georgia Tech."

``I like the campus, the coaching staff and everything about the school," he added. "Everything you need is right there."

Peacock averaged 17.9 points and 11.2 rebounds as a junior and is an effort guy.

``I'm physical and I always go hard," Peacock said. "I try not to take any plays off."

Georgia Tech first got involved with Peacock shortly after new assistant Charlton Young came over from Tennessee-Chattanooga.

``When he switched jobs, he told Coach (Paul) Hewitt about me," added Peackock.
