Nixon Taking His Time

Oxon Hill junior Rashad Nixon hasn't gotten close to narrowing down his school list. However, this fine student-athlete is looking forward to the heightened interest.

Oxon Hill High didn't finish the season the way it wanted to. "We did pretty good," swingman Rashad Nixon said. "We went 22-2 but we lost when it counted." The 6-4 junior averaged 15 points a game.

UConn, St. Joe's, Temple, Stanford and George Mason came in to see him play this year. "I have a lot of schools," Nixon said. "I haven't narrowed it down yet. People are sending mail and trying to find out when it workout." Delaware and Penn State are also showing interest.

Most schools are recruiting Nixon as a two guard or possible 3-man. They'll be able to see him in action playing this summer with his Oxon Hill team or with Team Excel out of Virginia.

Nixon doesn't have any official or unofficial visits planned but is in no rush to decide. "I'm a 3.5 student and my parents are really up on me about (academics). I was really thinking I would want to sign early."
