Crawford Taking 2nd Official Visit

Howard Crawford has taken one visit and embarks on another later this week. The Greene County power forward isn't sure if he's an early or late signee.

Expect to hear Howard Crawford's name a lot in the coming weeks. The 6-foot-7 ½ power forward out of Eutaw (Ala.) Greene County is one of the few uncommitted high-major post prospects.

Currently, Crawford is eyeballing Boston College, UAB, Tennessee and Alabama. The Crimson Tide and Volunteers have not offered him. "I won't wait for them to offer," Crawford said. "If they do then they'll just do it."

The forward has been on one visit and will take a trip to UAB this weekend. Boston College hosted him a few weeks back.

"It went good," Crawford said of the B.C. trip. "They have a good coaching staff. They wanted me and they were real cool."

UAB is recruiting Crawford as more of a perimeter player while the Eagles have him earmarked to play the power forward role. Scout.com lists him as a power forward and a 3-star prospect.

"After the visit I'll probably just think about it then and maybe try to narrow it down and see if I want to sign early."

Crawford left open the possibility of inking with a school during the spring period. ‘It's not a benefit but one benefit would be if any further colleges are interested in you. As far as signing early, you can just focus on your school and your season. I prefer to sign early but whatever happens just happens."
