Donte Greene, the 6-foot-8 stud power forward out of Baltimore (Md.) Towson Catholic, is ready to make a college decision.
"I've got a press conference tomorrow at 3:30," Greene told Scout.com. Maryland, Georgetown, Miami, Texas and Syracuse are under consideration, according to Greene. He's been to each campus except for Texas and Miami. The chatter this fall has been about Syracuse so we'll see if the Orange can land their man on Tuesday.
Greene, a 2005 Nike All-American camper, said that it was simply time to end the process and move on.
"To get it out of the way and to just to focus on school and ball," Greene said of his motives for announcing this early. "I was getting real stressed out as far as the phone calls and the mail and it was overwhelming."
Greene attends Towson Catholic, the same school that was home to Carmelo Anthony before his famed transfer to Oak Hill. The athletic swingman, who plays both on the perimeter and inside, is ready to end the process and concentrate on other areas of his high school career.
"I sat down over the last 2-3 weeks and gave it some thought. I want to focus on my GPA and get qualified."
As for which program he'll select, well Greene is trying his best to keep it a secret. "We'll find out tomorrow."
