McFarland Returns from Marquette

Chas McFarland's second visit is in the books - and the 7-foot Illinois native got to go a little closer to home for this one.

Chas McFarland, a 7-footer from Illinois who is spending the year at Worcester Academy (Mass.), returned from his second official visit this past weekend.

McFarland, a few weeks after visiting USC, went back to the midwest and got a closer look at Marquette for Midnight Madness.

``I got a chance to hang out with the players and I watched them practice," McFarland said. "Midnight Madness was a lot of fun and I think it's somewhere I can go in and start right away."

McFarland was joined by his mother and sister, who live in Lovington, which is about 4 1/2 hours away, on the trip.

He was also hosted by his former AAU teammate, freshman guard Dominic James, on the visit. The pair played together with the Spiece Select 2005 before McFarland played with the Spiece Indy Heat and was the backup to Greg Oden this past spring and summer.

``I felt good with the guys on the team and I felt like I fit in," McFarland said. "I also like Coach (Tom) Crean. He's tough and he's not going to let you slack off." McFarland said he'll definitely take a visit this weekend to Boston College and he may also choose between Texas and Miami for another trip. Providence is also in the mix.
