Zane Johnson, 6-6 JR SG Phoenix (Ariz.) Thunderbird, is one of the top wings in the west for the class of 2007. A very good shooter, Johnson has excellent instincts and a well-rounded game.

We spoke with Johnson this past weekend and asked about the schools expressing early interest in him.

"Most of the Pac-10 – Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford, UCLA and Washington," said Johnson. "Tulane and Illinois have offered and I'm also hearing from UNLV and Virginia."

Asked if any schools stand out for him at this time, Johnson replied, "I like UCLA and UNLV. I like their coaching staffs."

When questioned about the factors that might influence his choice, Johnson said, "Location doesn't matter – I wouldn't mind going away. The history of the program and the education will be important. I might want to do something in the medical profession."

When questioned about the timing of his decision and possible visits, Johnson said, "I'm not sure about the visits. I might take them after the summer. I'll probably wait until after the summer to make a commitment."

Johnson told us he currently has a 3.4 GPA.
