Bronson Cast In Role At Xavier

Charles Bronson is going to have three seasons of eligibility remaining once he hits an A-10 campus next season. The former East Carolina Pirate who now attends Panola Junior College, found a new home this week.

The Xavier Musketeers dipped into the junior college pool and found themselves a player. Charles Bronson, a 6-foot-10 big man out of Panola (Tex.) Junior College, committed to the Musketeers this weekend.

Bronson made the decision to attend "X" after officially visiting UTEP and hearing from Maryland, Kansas State and UNLV.

"It just felt like everything there was about basketball," Bronson said. "The whole staff and everybody in the community was willing to help the players and I saw that. Coach will get the best out of you and they work extremely hard."

Bronson takes a circuitous route to Xavier. The former Philadelphia Lutheran standout picked East Carolina coming out of prep school. He played in just a single scrimmage game with the Pirates before making his way to Panola.

"I left East Carolina going into the second semester. I called my coach and he helped get me over to Panola. I left for academic reasons."

Bronson, despite playing this year at Panola, will have three seasons of eligibility remaining once he hits campus next fall.

"I'm a way better athlete. I run and jump a lot better. I've always been skilled but most of the changes in my game are about being a better athlete; running and jumping stuff."
