Barea Headed North

Jose Barea, one of the top unsigned point guards in the country, has reached a collegiate decision. He'll enlist with a school in the America East Conference.

Barea Picks Northeastern

Jose Juan Barea, a 5-11 point guard from Miami Christian is headed to Northeastern University.

He averaged 20 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 3 steals in helping his team to the state title and a 38-2. He made a name for himself nationally at the City of Palms event last December when he was the team's leading scorer at the event and showcased an accurate shot to 3-point range.

From then on, schools began evaluating him. He was on the Marquette watch list most of the year and recently Oregon State inquired.

The Miami resident and native of Puerto Rico will be united with Frank Martin, an assistant with the Huskies who is from Miami. Clearly, the Huskies and Martin have landed themselves a player who can impact their program.
