Hurricanes Land Third Commitment

Frank Haith and the Miami Hurricanes have added another forward. This time, the Canes dipped into the junior college ranks to get it done.

According to sources, Fabio Nass is a Hurricane.

Nass, a 6-foot-10 native of Santa Catarina, Brazil, ran with Dixie State last year where he averaged 8 points for a strong team. This year, he transferred into Fort Smith Junior College for a team that opens the year ranked as the best in America.

The 210 pounder is going to play a face up, multi-position role for the Hurricanes. Southern Cal, UTEP and Fresno State were recruiting the young man for his skill level.

"He's a kid that just because of his size and his mobility he'll be able to rebound the basketball," Fort Smith coach Jeremy Cox told the Times Record paper. "He's so skilled ... his skill level is so high. He's a forward, kind of a three-four type kid."

The commitment by Nass is Miami's third this season. Top 100 prospects Dwayne Collins and James Dews are already on board with the Hurricanes.
