Racers Land Wing Prospect

Brandon Evans is off the board in the Class of 2006. The Murray State Racers have their top recruiting priority all locked up.

The Murray State Racers have locked down their top wing recruiting target for the fall. Brandon Evans, a 6-foot-3 ½ wing out of Jackson (Tenn.) Liberty Tech, committed to the program this week.

The native of North Carolina averaged 18 points and 5 rebounds as a junior when he was named the district MVP and all-region. Evans was also named the West Tennessee Newcomer of the Year. His team finished 26-6.

"They've been recruiting Brandon from Day One since he first got here back in the fall last year," Liberty Tech coach Dexter Williams said.

"They've been consistent and they've been there the whole time. We went to camp up there over the summer and had a chance to spend the night in a dorm and see the facilities. I think he felt like he really fit with the style of play there."
