BC Is The Choice
True to his word, Johnnie Jackson announced his college choice on Thursday.
"He's going to Boston College," Jackson's mother told TheInsidersHoops.com. "I want John to be happy so I support him."
Alabama-Birmingham and Providence were players in the end. UAB was the closest to home, but Jackson opted for BC and the Big East.
"I think that's where I can be happy and develop as a player and an athlete," Jackson said.
For whatever reason, schools didn't show a lot of interest in Jackson early. Maybe it was academics, but the bottom line is that Jackson is a player. "I think (academics were the) most part of it. It was frustrating at times. I had the grades but the ACT kept holding me back. I tried to keep my composure and had confidence and prayed about it. I was highly recruited by Arkansas State and some mid-colleges but I knew I could play at the highest level."
Jackson's a shade over 6-5 and makes shots. He'll bury 3s, drive to the rim; he just understands how to score and BC landed a good one.
