Auburn Lands Commitment No. 2

Jeff Lebo cranked up the commitment machine this past weekend and got another one done. This time, Lebo went into South Carolina for his latest addition.

The Auburn Tigers now own a pair of commitments from the Class of 2006. Joining shooting guard Kelvin Lewis will be Columbia (S.C.) Richland small forward Lucas Hargrove.

The 6-foot-6 Hargrove made it official for Auburn this weekend.

"It basically came down between Auburn and Nevada but I always wanted to play in the SEC growing up," Hargrove said. "They want me to come in at the three or the two and be a big point guard."

Last season, Hargrove averaged 15 points and 7 rebounds a game while playing strictly inside for his team. He's looking forward to the collegiate experience when he can play his more natural wing position.

"I play everything at Northeast. When I get to Auburn I can focus on my position. I'm really a wing player. I consider myself to be a wing player."

For Hargrove, a big selling point with Auburn was the youth in the program. "Coach Lebo is a great fella. The campus is real nice and when I met the players, they've got so many freshmen that he recruited last year. They're going to be real good."
