2007 Focus: Morgan Grim

Morgan Grim, a 6-7 junior power forward from Utah, has some local schools and national powers on his early list...

Morgan Grim, 6-7 JR PF Riverton (Utah) High, is currently ranked as the #3 power forward in the west for 2007. A mobile post with good feet and hands, Grim has a nice frame and should fill out well. He's got a decent shot out to about 18-20 feet and he plays with very good energy.

We spoke with Grim last night and asked him about the schools he's heard from so far that might interest him.

"Utah, UCLA, Stanford, Indiana, Pacific, BYU and Weber State," said Grim. "Those are the top ones right now. Weber State and Utah have offered."

Grim listed some of the factors he'll consider when choosing a school.

"How I like the coaches, the players at my position and just the school overall," said Grim.

We asked Grim if location would play a role in his decision.

"Part of me wants to stay home, part of me would like to go to California and I'd also be interested in going east," said Grim.

Grim told us he's not sure yet about schools he'd like to visit officially. He's taken unofficial visits already to Pepperdine, Utah, BYU and Weber State.

The timing of his decision is still up in the air, but Grim did say he'd like to sign in the fall next year. A good student, Grim told us he has a 3.4 GPA.
