Kendall Headed to A-10

Stephen Kendall was committed to Virginia when he took to the court last spring. Then he was back open when he suffered a severely sprained ankle and was forced to miss July. Now the Hargrave Academy senior sharpshooter is back off the board.

Stephen Kendall was fairly anonymous on the circuit this past spring and summer. The Virginia native barely played in the spring when he was a University of Virginia commit and after he re-opened his recruitment when the staff turned over, he was injured with a severely sprained ankle and didn't play in July.

The 6-foot-3, 175-pound senior, who is spending the season at Hargrave Military Academy (Va.) after playing at Blue Ridge School (Va.), committed to Richmond on Monday shortly after arriving back at Hargrave from a weekend visit to the A-10 school.

``He really has the ability to score from the outside," Hargrave coach Kevin Keatts said. "When the smoke cleared, it came down to James Madison and Richmond."

``I think he liked everything about Richmond," added Keatts. "He's a terrific student and he liked the academics. He also liked the staff and was familiar with the players in the program."
