Wilderness Wanders Into A-10 Land

Anjuan Wilderness, a key participant on Dunwoody's 3-A state championship team, is headed to the Atlantic 10.

The Charlotte 49ers have mined one of the most athletic players from the state of Georgia. Anjuan Wilderness, a 6-foot-5 forward out of Dunwoody High is headed to play for Coach Bobby Lutz.

"He's supposed to sign (today)," Wilderness' AAU coach Julio Smith said. "I actually thought he was going to sign yesterday. I really think his high school coach did a wonderful job in helping him sort through the process and it ended up being the perfect fit for him."

A source told Scout.com that the paperwork will come in from Wilderness sometime this week.

A seriously athletic combo forward, Wilderness competed at Dunwoody High last season and was part of a team that captured the 3-A state championship. A slashing type player, he's best suited to play in attack mode when he get out and use his athleticism to run the floor.

"I think Anjuan, once he gets to college, is going to be a multi-dimensional player," Smith said. He's strong attacking the basket and once he gets into a situation where he's constantly working out he's going to be a helluva Division I player."
