Fred Washington, 6-6 JR SF Torrance (Calif.) Bishop Montgomery, is another player who isn't receiving a lot of national attention, but he could become a hot commodity in the summer. He's not exceptional in any one area, but he's a solid all-around player with a nice upside. With an improved outside shot, he could be a top 100 national level player.
We spoke with Washington last night and he told us that Stanford and Loyola Marymount have both visited him in the last couple weeks. We asked if he had a leader at this point and Washington said, "I like Stanford, but I'm really wide-open."
While Stanford and Loyola were the only two schools to visit, Washington has received interest from Oregon, Oregon St., UC Santa Barbara, Notre Dame and Kansas, among others.
Washington has yet to take any visits, but said he and his parents will probably visiting Stanford unofficially in the near future.
Previously, Washington has told us that he has a 4.0 GPA.
