Eagles, Marquette Among A Handful Of Offers
Dan Coleman, a 6-8 power forward from Hopkins High in Minnesota, is having a very impressive spring. While playing with the Howard Pulley Panthers, Coleman has increased his national profile and his stock is on the rise.
So far, he's been offered scholarships by Marquette, Creighton, Drake, Northern Illinois, Bowling Green and most recently, Boston College.
"They offered me (Tuesday)," Coleman said. "They set up a visit after school and saw me play and talked about how I fit in." If you can recall, current Eagle Troy Bell is from the same neck of the woods as Coleman. "Troy's family lives not too far from our house."
Coleman said that Illinois and Purdue also came to watch him play and said they would continue to evaluate him throughout the spring and summer but did stop short of offering a scholarship.
Coleman is starting to get offers from the cream of the crop conferences and those will be tough to turn down. "(My goal is) definitely to play at the highest level. That's everybody's goal."
The Hopkins big man who averaged 15 points and 10 rebounds last year should certainly be able to do just that.
