Pegues Picks Sun Belt Program

A'Darius Pegues ended his recruitment this week. The Louisville Western Magnet big man signed on the dotted line to play in the Sun Belt.

The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers landed their second recruit of the year, both of them from the state of Kentucky. Joining wing man A.J. Slaughter is Louisville Western center A'Darius Pegues, a 6-foot-9, 230 pounder who averaged 12 points a game last year.

"The vibe there is family and they work hard," Pegues said of the Toppers. "When I saw them in practice it was amazing how hard they worked and they can win championships every year. They recruited me really hard and now I have it off my mind so I can have a great senior year."

Pegues received attention from Georgia and Purdue during the recruiting process before inking with Western Kentucky.

Western's third-year Coach Darrin Horn was excited about the addition of Pegues. "I think the two big things are that he's a 6-foot-9 high level athlete with versatility," Horn said. "We think that with him we've locked up the two best players in Kentucky and we want to be good in our own backyard."
