Davis Rounds Out A&M's Class

There will be no spring decision for Grand Prairie (Tex.) High power forward Bryan Davis. The big man told one Big 12 school that he's on board.

There are only 4 players from the Scout.com Top 50 remaining because Bryan Davis (No. 49) took his name off the list on Wednesday.

Davis, a 6-foot-8 ½ power forward, becomes the signature recruit for Coach Billy Gillispie at Texas A&M. The class assembled by Gillispie and his staff will be viewed as one of the better efforts in school history.

"I just felt like that was the best school and situation for me," Davis said Wednesday evening.

Gillispie, in a press release about his recruits, said he couldn't be more thrilled with the crop. "We couldn't be happier about this class and what it means for the future of this basketball program. This is a major step in the right direction for us and we hope we're not finished yet."

A&M now has signatures from guards Bryan Beasley, Derrick Roland and Donald Sloan. Forwards Davis and Joseph Fulce are also in the mix.
