Xavier Lands Skilled Small Forward
Xavier struck again in the Class of 2003. In February, they landed shooting guard Robert Barker. On Friday, they opted for another swingman.
"I called (Xavier) today from school," Justin Doellman told TheInsidersHoops.com. "It just kind of felt right. I really liked the campus and the school."
Last year at Union (KY) Ryle, Doellman averaged 17.8 points. He said that Western Kentucky and Buffalo offered him. He also liked Notre Dame.
The 6-7 Doellman recently made an unofficial visit to Xavier and that really helped him in the decision making process.
Look for Xavier to turn its attention the Class of 2004. In that class, the Musketeers will have five available scholarships and you can bet good money that they'll be looking to retool at five different positions. In the meantime, they'll be content with Barker and Doellman in this class. Barker is rehabbing a knee injury and will miss most of the summer.
