2007 Introduction: Clint Amberry

Clint Amberry, a skilled post from Southern California, has a number of West Coast programs taking a look at him...

Clint Amberry, 6-9 JR C Los Alamitos (Calif.) High, is a skilled big man with the ability to step away and face the basket.

We spoke with Amberry over the weekend and he gave us a list of schools that interest him.

"Pepperdine, Santa Clara, Arizona, Oregon, Washington and USC," said Amberry. "I'd prefer to stay in the west."

Asked if any school stands out for him at this time, Amberry said, "Pepperdine is probably highest right now."

Amberry told us that USC and Oregon State have been out to see him at practice this fall. Pepperdine, Santa Clara, Arizona and UC Santa Barbara are supposed to visit Los Alamitos in the future.

Amberry listed some of the issues he'll consider when making his choice.

"Location, how I get along with the coach, a competitive team and early playing time," said Amberry.

Amberry isn't very far along yet with the process, but indicated that he'd like to sign before his senior season. He told us he has a 3.0 GPA.
