Michigan Picks Up Another Underclassman

Last week, Michigan gained the services of a member of the Class of 2003. With Dion Harris in the fold, Michigan briefly turned its attention to a sophomore and closed on another key recruit.

Coleman Picks Wolverines

Tommy Amaker has signatures from members of the Class of 2002 and verbal commitments from young men in two other classes.

Late last week, Amaker gained the services of 6-5, 205 pound Ronald Coleman, a sophomore at Romulus (MI) High.

"I knew I liked Michigan," Coleman said. "I was just waiting for them to tell me that I was going to get a scholarship. I took me a couple of months. The coaching staff came to most of my games – the whole coaching staff – and Coach Amaker is a down to earth coach."

Last season, Coleman averaged 17 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists. "At Romulus, I play every position. (Amaker) told me that he would prefer me to play small forward. I like that position because they do everything."

Coleman said that Michigan State, Cincinnati, Louisville, Purdue and Dayton were interested. He'll play with The Family, coached by Speedy Walker, this summer.
