Gregory Is Terps 3rd Commitment

Dino Gregory is staying close to home. The Mount St. Joseph forward elected to make College Park his college destination on Thursday.

The Maryland Terrapins are in commitment mode. National Top 50 recruit Braxton Dupree of Calvert Hall kicked it off and then Top 100 candidate Jeff Jones followed suit and all the sudden the Terrapins owned a pair of commitments from the 2007 class.

Well, now they own three. On Thursday, it became public that 6-foot-7 Baltimore Mount St. Joe's power forward Dino Gregory would play his college ball for Maryland.

"He has verbally committed to Maryland," Mount coach Pat Clatchey told "They got Braxton, him and Jeff Jones. With the kids they have coming in there … Eric Hayes, Vasquez, they're good players."

Gregory averaged 10 points and 6 boards on a strong team laced with Division I talent last year. Clatchey noted that he's made strides with his game and that the Terps are getting a strong student-athlete.

"He's an outstanding young man. He's going to continue to work hard and he wants this and he's going about it the right way."

Virginia Tech, DePaul, Xavier and St. Joseph's recruited Gregory.
