Saturday, Dec. 3, is simply one of the best days of high school basketball on the entire calendar. After a series of local and regional match ups, it's Jon Scheyer time as his defending Illinois state champions lace them up against powerful Memphis Ridgeway.
Point guards Josue Soto and Willie Kemp are set to battle with Bolivar drawing Arlington Country Day. After that big timer Brandan Wright, likely smarting from an early season loss, takes on South Laurel from the Blue Grass State.
Then it gets really serious.
Raymar Morgan's Canton McKinley boys drew Oak Hill, which plays its second game in as many nights. In the nightcap, Memphis Mitchell stud Thaddeus Young, one of the biggest draws in high school hoops, gets Peoria Richwoods and junior forward Billy Cole.
