OU Wants To Bring Him In
Lanny Smith, a 6-3 combo guard, averaged 15 points a game last year for Greg Wise at Hightower. "He's a point guar but he can play either (guard) spot," Wise said. "I think he'll be better as a point. He can do either one."
Thus far, Wise said Oklahoma, Texas, TCU, Houston, Georgia Tech and Baylor are showing interest. TCU, Houston and Baylor have already offered. However, another school might be on the verge.
"Oklahoma wanted him to come up to visit and if he visits, they would probably want him to commit," Wise said. "Lanny is talking with Oklahoma about trying to get up there this weekend. They had talked to him about coming up and at first he wanted to wait but he changed his mind." The visit has not been set but it looks like it could take place.
Smith, one of the faster guards in his class, loves to get to the rim. He's good off the dribble and plays in attack mode. He'll need to beef up to take the contact that comes with the college game but his coach isn't worried. "By the time he goes to college and keeps hitting the weights, he'll be fine."
