2007 Intro: Isaiah Jenkins

Isaiah Jenkins led Westchester to an upset win over Dominguez this past weekend. We spoke with him yesterday about his recruitment...

Isaiah Jenkins, 6-2 JR SG Los Angeles (Calif.) Westchester, plays both guard spots for his high school team, but we think he's likely to end up at the two in college. He's a fairly good shooter to the stripe and he has a chance to become a good defender down the road.

We spoke with Jenkins recently and asked him about the schools expressing early interest in him.

"Kentucky, Georgia Tech and Kanasas are my top three right now," said Jenkins.

When we asked if any West Coast programs are showing interest, Jenkins replied, "UCLA and some others."

When questioned about what he is looking for in a school, Jenkins said, "Someplace where I have a comfort zone -- people I can play with and a good coaching staff. There are a lot of selfish players, so someplace where they play as a team."

We asked Jenkins if location will be an issue for him.

"No, I'm fine wherever I go. My Mom would like me to stay on the West Coast, but I'll go anywhere."

Jenkins said early playing time is not a big deal for him.

"I'm a real patient person," said Jenkins. "So early time is not that important.

Jenkins doesn't see himself making a decision soon.

"I probably won't decide until after the summer."

Jenkins told us he has a 2.8 GPA and he's waiting on the results from a recent SAT.
