Richard Takes Two Unofficials
Last week, Kathleen power forward Chris Richard visited Florida and Florida State, two schools on his list that have offered scholarships. Both of the visits were unofficial. "It was nice," Richard said. Both of them were alright and I liked both of them."
Both schools probably like him a whole lot and why not? Richard is a young man with loads of potential. At 6-8, he's probably not done growing and is just now beginning to tap his basketball potential. We see him as kind of a smaller version of Chris Wilcox. "That's what a lot of people say," Richard said. "I think that's a good thing. I like him and he plays pretty good." Richard also says that he hears comparisons with Chris Webber and Rasheed Wallace, two of his favorite players.
Athletically, he's right there with the top power guys in the class. As his skills develop, so will his shot making abilities and touch. Right now, he's a super rebounder who gets off the floor quickly. He's also going to be a big time shot blocker.
His school list reads Florida, Florida State, Maryland, Auburn, Alabama, North Carolina and Indiana. He says everyone on the list has offered but the Tar Heels, citing the fact that Matt Doherty told him that he hasn't seen him enough yet.
Richard will attend the Nike All-American Camp this summer and plays with the Tallahassee Wildcats.
