Roberts Attracts Major Interest

Everyone who was at the Prime Time Shootout saw the same thing. St. Anthony's power forward Terrence Roberts rose to the occasion and with one stellar performance erupted onto the national recruiting scene.

Roberts Has Plenty of Options

Jersey City (NJ) St. Anthony's power forward Terrence Roberts knew exactly when he arrived. It was February and his team was playing against Amityville of New York.

"I had the ball a lot when I played against Jason Fraser and all the hype, I knew what I had to do," Roberts said. "I didn't think he expected it." Showing no fear, Roberts went right after Fraser. He scored, ran the floor and rose up the charts with just one prime time performance.

And now, college programs are making him a priority recruit. Syracuse, Florida, Virginia, Villanova, UConn, Seton Hall and St. John's are among the highly interested parties. Roberts says that he feels like all of them have offered. Makes complete sense to us.

"I just want to finish my school year strong so I'm not going to take any unofficials (right now)," Roberts said. The big man averaged "10-12" points a game last year but he knows things will change next season.

"(Coach Bob Hurley) just tells me that I have to be ready to take on a leadership role on the team," Roberts said. The big man thought that might have surprised the veteran coach just a little with his talent. "In a way I think he was (surprised) but in a way he might not have been because he I think he kind of expected it."

Interested parties can catch Roberts with the Tim Thomas Playaz and Jersey City Heat this spring and summer. He'll also be at adidas Camp in July.
