Suttle Drawing Interest

Dane Suttle, a sharp-shooting wing from Southern California, has a long list of programs expressing preliminary interest in him...

Dane Suttle, 6-4 JR SG Los Angeles (Calif.) Westchester, is a promising wing with a very nice stroke to the three-point line. He'll need to improve his ability to put the ball on the floor is he is to play at a high level, but he's drawing early interest from a number of programs.

We spoke with Suttle recently and asked him about the schools that interest him.

"I like Oregon a lot," said Suttle. "Also Washington and New Mexico State – those are the main three I like right now. But I'm hearing from Georgia Tech, Clemson, Kansas, Pepperdine, Washington State, Oregon State, USC and Utah."

Suttle mentioned Kansas, UConn, New Mexico State, USC and UCLA as schools that have been out to Westchester this season.

We asked Suttle what he is looking for in a school.

"The location, the environment there and how much the coach wants me," said Suttle. "I want to know how he's going to use me and that he really wants me. I don't want to go somewhere that has an All-American returning at my position, where I'd have to sit behind someone. I'd like to stay in the west – I don't think I'll go to the east."

Suttle told us he has a 2.5 GPA and hopes to reach a decision before the summer.
