Lorenzo Wade, 6-5 JR SG Las Vegas (Nev.) Cheyenne, is a very versatile wing who has yet to receive much national attention. We expect that to change after this summer.
We spoke with Wade yesterday and he told us UNLV was the only school to come out to speak with him during the recent contact period. Wade did say that Pepperdine, Marquette, USC, Maryland, Tennessee and Tulsa have all been sending him mail frequently. When we asked him which schools seemed to be the most interested, Wade said, "Tennessee and Marquette."
We asked Wade about the issue of leaving the west for college and he replied, "It doesn't make any difference where it is -- it's college. I just want to go and play."
Wade doesn't see himself making an early decision. "I'll probably take five visits -- I'm not sure when I'll decide," Wade said. "Possibly not until next spring."
Wade does have some catching up to do in the classroom. He said his GPA is currently 2.3 and he's taking some night courses in an attempt to bring up his GPA. He said he'll take the SAT in June.
