Wildcats Grab Third Commitment

Jamelle Horner, an athletic 6-foot-7 wing out of San Diego, is off the board. On Monday night, the talented junior ended his recruitment.

Lute Olson is collecting juniors at an historic rate for the Wildcats. On Monday night, while out on a recruiting trip on the West Coast, one of Olson's top tier targets offered up a commitment.

Jamelle Horne, San Diego Senior High's 6-foot-7 small forward, pledged to the program. Horne had been receiving serious recruiting interest from Louisville, Texas, Washington and Wake Forest.

"It was a little bit of everybody," Etop Udo-Ema, Horner's Compton Magic AAU coach said. "Some harder than others but Arizona has been on him the longest. Lute is down there right now."

The Wildcats are the proud owners of pledges from a trio of Top 100 players, including Top 10 guard Jerryd Bayless. Horne, ranked as the No. 12 small forward in the nation, joins center Alex Jacobsen out of Mater Dei in Arizona's 2007 recruiting class.

"It's good for the kid," Udo-Ema said. "It's a good spot for him."

Horne is an athletic player with a perimeter package. He ran last spring and summer with the Compton Magic.
