2007 Intro: D'Walyn Roberts

D'Walyn Roberts is a guy that few really know much about, but the Duncanville High (Texas) 6-foot-7 junior is someone to watch this summer.

D'Walyn Roberts is playing out of position, but he realizes it will help him down the road.

The 6-foot-7, 185-pound Duncanville High (Texas) junior is actually more of a long wing who likes to roam the perimeter. However, he's more of a power forward in high school.

``I've been shooting the ball well so far this season and have been rebounding much better," Roberts said. "I just need to handle the ball more."

``I can go in or out, but I'm more comfortable on the perimeter," he added.

Roberts is averaging 14 points per game so far this season, but he's looking forward to this spring and summer.

``I didn't play well last summer, so I want to show people what I'm capable of," Roberts said. "I'm going to be more aggressive this summer. I wasn't aggressive enough last summer."

``He's a 3/2," said Dallas Mustangs coach Tony Johnson. "He can shoot it and he's really long and lanky. He's semi-athletic, defends with his long arms and is a good rebounder. He can play with his back to the basket or on the perimeter."

Roberts said that Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Baylor have been the three most consistent pursuers when it comes to his recruiting process.

``I don't know yet," Roberts said of his recruitment. "I'm still looking, but those are the main three right now that seem to be interested."
