Gerad Punch, 6-2 JR SG Phoenix (Ariz.) Brophy, told us recently that he was visited during the contact period by New Mexico, Colorado St. and Loyola Marymount. In addition to those schools, Missouri and Pittsburgh have been calling his high school coach regularly.
When asked if any schools had made an impression during the visits, Punch said, "New Mexico. They have some coaches who are looking to make a change there and I liked what they had to say."
Punch told us that he has relatives on both the East and West Coast. He said the opporunity to play near family might be a factor he would consider when making a decision. "I'd also like to play for a team that consistently makes the tournament," Punch said. "And one that has my major -- business."
Punch will be attending the NBA camp this month and his traveling team will be in Augusta and Las Vegas in July.
He took the SAT in May but has yet to receive his results.
