Power Still Trying To Decide

Swingman Shane Power is probably going to make a decision next week. Power will have two years to play after sitting out one season. He's finding that making a decision the second time around is actually tougher.

Power To Decide Next Week

Former Iowa State swingman Shane Power isn't having an easy time with his college choice.

"It's a real tough decision," Power said. "It's a blessing to have five great opportunities but at the same time it's an impossible decision. I haven't decided where I'm going but I'm getting close."

Power said that he'll probably have a decision by mid-week next week. He's considering Pittsburgh, Virginia, Mississippi State and Notre Dame. New Mexico gave away its last grant.

"Pittsburgh is one the rise. Virginia is a great place in a great league. Mississippi State is definitely right there. All the places have great coaches, great facilities. Notre Dame is obviously a great place with great coaches. They are all established programs in great leagues."

It's interesting to hear Power speak about what's important to him in the process the second time around. "This time the most important thing is relationships," Power said. "More than the prowess of a certain program I think relationships this time around is very important. You are dealing with limited knowledge. You're making a three-year decision based on a two-day trip. The whole process is just nuts."

Power averaged 13 points and 4 rebounds a game for ISU last season.
