We spoke with Chapman recently and he gave us a list of schools he's been hearing from to date.
Given the variety of schools expressing interest in him, we asked Chapman for his feelings on playing for a low major vs. a high major.
"I want to stay wherever I go," said Chapman. "So if I go to a higher level, I could see possibly redshirting.
We asked Chapman if location is an issue for him.
"No, not for me," said Chapman. "It's more of an issue for my Mom, she'd like to see me stay close to home. But it doesn't really matter -- I'm just looking for the best program."
When questioned about what he is looking for in a program, Chapman said, "Academics and basketball are both important. I want to play basketball, but know that I need a good education. You never know what might happen. My brother hurt his meniscus -- that could happen to me."
Chapman said he's given some thought as to when he'd like to make his decision.
"I'd like to sign before my senior year, so I don't have to worry about it." said Chapman. "But if I don't get the scholarship I'm looking for, I don't mind waiting to get where I want to go."
Chapman told us he has a 3.3 GPA.
