KSU Lands 2003 Point Guard

Dez Willingham, a point guard with Texas Top Prospects, made a commitment on Tuesday. After taking an unofficial visit to this Big 12 school, Willingham ended his recruitment. He joins Jim Woolridge in Manhattan.

Kansas State Lands Early Commitment

DeSoto (TX) High point guard Dez Willingham made a commitment. Again.

A few months ago, Willingham committed to Tennessee only to see the commitment between he and the school come apart. Now, he feels much better about his new decision.

Willingham will play in the Big 12 with Kansas State. "They recruited me hard," Willingham said. "I visited and enjoyed it and liked it. It's the Big 12 and I can go in and play as a freshman, if not start."

Willingham said that he received offers from Southern Methodist, Colorado State and Mississippi State. Oklahoma, UConn and Stanford made inquiries.

Willingham was recently named all-tournament at the Southern Invitational. Last year, he averaged 19 points, 7 assists and 3 steals at DeSoto. He'll attend the Nike All-American Camp. He's running with the Texas Top Prospects traveling team.
