2007 Introduction: Gerald McLemore

Gerald McLemore, a 6-2 junior guard from San Diego, is an intriguing prospect who figures to draw plenty of interest this spring...

Gerald McLemore, 6-2 JR SG San Diego (Calif.) Scripps Ranch, hasn't received a lot of hype on the AAU circuit, but he's a solid prospect with a good feel for the game.

McLemore's got a nice shot with three-point range, but also shows a good mid-range game. He does a good job of letting the game come to him and makes good decisions.

We spoke with McLemore last night and asked him about the schools he has heard from to date.

"Michigan, Pepperdine, Notre Dame, San Diego, Stanford, Yale, San Diego State and Creighton," said McLemore. "San Diego, Yale and San Diego State have been calling."

We asked McLemore what he is looking for in a school.

"I want to be comfortable with the academics, as well as the basketball," said McLemore. "Location really isn't an issue. I wouldn't mind going away and seeing another part of the country."

McLemore said he hasn't given a lot of thought yet to his recruitment.

"I'm going to sit down with my Mom and evaluate things -- see what my options are, where I fit in and where I can play," said McLemore.

A very good student, McLemore told us he has a 3.8 GPA and he'll take the SAT in April.
