Another In-State Product To Tech

Lance Storrs ended his recruitment Thursday afternoon at a press conference held at Columbia High. The state champ is staying home for college.

Georgia Tech has been working its in-state network. Of the last 6 recruits to commit or sign with Tech, half of them have been from the state of Georgia. On Thursday, Lance Storrs kept the trend moving as the 6-foot-4 junior shooting guard pledged to the Yellow Jackets.

"Therefore I've decided to attend Georgia Tech in 2007," Storrs announced. "I want to thank Coach Hewitt and I am most impressed with Coach Hewitt and his staff. I'm excited to embark upon my adventure in 2007."

Storrs had also been recruited by South Carolina and Tennessee, his other remaining finalists.

Tech's initial 2007 pledge came from in-state power forward Gani Lawal, a Scout.com Top 20 prospect.

Storrs will be expected to stretch defenses in Atlanta. He's a noted shooter and helped Decatur (Ga.) Columbia High to a state championship in his junior campaign.
