Udoh Makes Decision

Ekpe Udoh had a difficult decision to make, but the Oklahoman didn't fret. It actually wasn't that difficult after all.

Ekpe Udoh had some decent options, but he's already made his decision.

The 6-foot-10, 235-pound Santa Fe High (Okla.) senior, despite offers from Michigan, Pittsburgh and Oklahoma State, has decided to head to prep school next year in an effort to improve his game.

Udoh's season ended Friday with a loss to Keith Clark's Putnam City.

``I only played half of the season because I had surgery in August," Udoh said.

Udoh averaged 15 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocks per game this season despite not feeling 100 percent since recovering from shoulder surgery that limited his play most of last spring and summer.

``I still want to go to prep school, probably Harmony Community School," Udoh said. "I want to work on my skills. I've been out for a while with my shoulder injury. I just want to be stronger and be ready for college."

Udoh will suit up with the Texas Blue Chips again this spring and summer and said that improving his mid-range jumper will be the primary focus.

``All I've been able to do is post up this season," Udoh said. "I want to improve my outside shot and my footwork."
