Grant Down to Pair

Malcolm Grant opened up his recruitment a while back and now the Robeson High (N.Y.) point guard is down to a pair of schools.

Malcolm Grant made an early commitment to Seton Hall, but the pair parted ways and now the floor leader has two finalists.

``My family and I decided to go in another direction and we decided to part ways with Seton Hall a while ago," said the 6-foot, 175-pound Robeson High (N.Y.) senior.

Now Grant will choose between Villanova and Miami.

``Coach Jay Wright is a great guy who lets his players play," Grant said. "I like their whole staff and really like the atmosphere over there. Miami is an up-and-coming program in the ACC. They had a good year this season."

Grant is coming off a strong senior campaign in which he averaged 25 points per contest. His plan is to take a year at prep school in order to become ready for college.

``I need the extra year to become a better defender and get stronger – both mentally and physically," Grant said.
