Bennett Inching Closer To Decision?

Jason Bennett could be making a collegiate decision very soon. Scout.com checked in with Bennett's high school coach who lent his insight into the 7-footer's situation.

Last week, the Auburn Tigers hosted Jacksonville (Fla.) Arlington Country Day senior Jason Bennett on an official visit. The 7-footer is considering the Tigers, Alabama and Michigan at this stage.

"I think he had a good visit (to Auburn)," ACD coach Rex Morgan told Scout.com. "I would think he's going to make a decision here in the next week or so."

The timetable relayed by Morgan is certainly interesting given the status of Bob Huggins. Long been rumored to be a target of the former Cincinnati coach, Bennett had previously spoken about possibly following the coach to his next destination.

"I think if something's going to happen with Huggins he'd like to see it happen sooner than later," Morgan said. "We're at the later part of March and signing day is the first of April. It's time to get something done."

Michigan was hoping for an official visit but to date it hasn't materialized and the coach didn't think Bennett would pick a school without tripping to the campus. Neither Alabama nor Michigan has hosted him on trips.
