Naymick On His Recruitment

North Muskegon (MI) High's Drew Naymick is keeping busy – very busy – this summer. Naymick is playing a lot of basketball. He's also trying to squeeze in a visit or two.

Stanford Up Next For Naymick

Drew Naymick, a 6-10 big man with the Grand Rapids Storm, is making an unofficial visit to Stanford this week. The trip will likely begin on Tuesday. Naymick has family in the Stanford area.

At this point, he lists Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Wake Forest, Notre Dame and Stanford as his six favorites. However, his recruitment is broken down into two tiers.

"Actually, I think Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State are above the other three," Naymick said. The big man said that while he favors those schools now, he wouldn't be afraid to venture further from home. "There's a little outside pressure from family (to stay close to home)," Naymick said. "One of the big concerns is not just my immediate family but other members want to see my games. But, if I find that Stanford or Wake is a better situation, then I'll decide to go out there."

After the trip out to Stanford, Naymick will ready himself for USA Basketball the following week. Last week, he went to Michigan State unofficially. "It went pretty well," he said. "The academic part was very informative and as far as talking to the coaches, I was good."

Naymick is still working on his application to Stanford. He said that he'd like to decide on a college prior to the start of his school year.
